Critch Stand (formally the Crich Memorial Tower) is a prominent Grade II listed war memorial tower situated atop Crich Hill in Derbyshire, England. It is perched 286 meters above sea level, this 19 meter cylindrical gritstone tower serves as a poignant monument and a “inland light house.” It.provides magnificent panoramic views that stretch across seven counties on clear days.

History  and Regimental Dedication

     The Original Site

The hill traditionally held older landmarks, starting with a 1760 wooden tower built for George III’s accension, followed by subsequent limestone and grits tone viewing structures.

     1923 Construction:  The current memorial tower was designed by Lieutenant Colonel Brew I’ll and completed in 1923
