     This bridge spans the Manatee River between Bradenton and and Palmetto.  This bridge is a pony plate girder type. It is a single leaf  bascule bridge.  It is normally in the open position for boat traffic.  The bridge is automated with no bridge tender.The main span measures 125 feet.  The entire structure is 3520 feet in length.
