     The Hotel Colorado is a historic hotel at 526 Pine Street, Glenwood Springs, Colorado.  It was built for William Deveraux, a silver magnate and banker.  Construction costs were $850,000.  Architects for the project were Boring, Tilton and Mellon. The style was Italianate.  It is a replicate of Villa de Medici.

     Local materials used in the construction included cream colored Roman Brick and Peach Blow sandstone.

     Imports included 12,000 square feet of carpet and 2,000 rose bushes.

     The hotel quickly became a popular summer retreat. Famous guests included Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, William Taft and Herbert Hoover and actor Tom Mix.

Hotel Colorado

     From 1942 to 1946, the hotel was leased by the U.S. Navy for use as a convalescent hospital.  Later, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on 5/26/1977.

Gordon Ramsey’s First Hell’s Kitchen Restaurant is located at 3570 LasVegas Boulevard in LasVegas in Caesar Palace. The space occupied by the Ramsey establishment was previously occupied by Serendipity. Hell’s Kitchen opened in 2018.

The restaurant serves lunch and dinner. There are floor to ceiling windows. There is red and blue design in the kitchen. There is seating for 300. There is a private dining room. There are two chefs tables. There is a contemporary bar.

The restaurant is not featured in Ramsey’s reality program.

Hell’s Kitchen is Ramsey’s 5th LasVegas Restaurant.

Interesting, there is a Hell’s Kitchen Restaurant in Minneapolis. This is not associated with either Ramsey’s reality show or his LasVegasRestaurant.

The Creamery Beaver, Utah

The Creamery, Beaver Utah

     The Creamery is located at 165 S. 500 W. Beaver, Utah. It is seen along Interstate 15.   To reach the Creamery, one has to go through the town of Beaver, Utah.

     Dairy Farmers of America opened this new concept store in 2018.  All dairy products are made from milk sourced from dairy farms within 25 miles.  Customers are able to purchase everything from cheese to ice cream and other Utah made foods.

     Prior to the opening of the Creamery, regional farmers have been making cheese for 67 years in a plant just behind the Creamery.  The new building is 11250 square feet which is 4 times the size of the old plant.

     There is a kitchen cafe that serves breakfast and dinner. Before the Creamery opened, the plant produced 4000 to 5000 pounds of cheese curd per week.  The plant currently employs 40 people.

Auckland Harbor Bridge, Auckland New Zealand

     Auckland Harbor Bridge is an 8 lane traffic bridge over Waitemata Harbour in Auckland, New Zealand

Auckland Harbor Bridge

     This bridge joins Saint Mary’s Bay on the Auckland City Side with Northcote on the North Shore Side. It is part of state Highway 1 and the Auckland Northern Motorway.
     The original 4 lanes opened in 1959.  They are of box truss construction.  The designer was Freeman and Fox Partners. It was built by Dorman Long and Cleveland Bridge and Engineering Company.
    In 1968–1969, two additional lanes were added to each side of the bridge.  Their structure is orthotopic box and they are cantilevered off the original piers.

Auckland Harbor Bridge

     The bridge is 1020 meters in length.  There are seven spans.  The largest span is 243.8 meters. The bridge 43.27 meters above high water.

     The bridge has been criticized for being to similar to the Sydney Harbor Bridge.

Main Street Theater Beaver Utah

This now closed theater is located at 55 Main Street Beaver Utah. The building was built in 1937 at a cost of $25,000. It was known as the Firmage Theater. It had 400 seats. It had an up to date sound system. Lobby colors were white, blue and beige. It was later owned by Elizabeth Dewsnup. She would drive up from Cedar City to run the theater on week ends. In 1983 it was renamed the Cinema. From 1992 to 1996 it was named the Showhouse. In 1999, it was listed in.the phone book as the Cinema Beaver. In July 2002, the Cinema Beaver was closed and listed for sale for $125,000. It featured 300 seats and 7000 square feet. of commercial space It reopened in 2008 as the Main Street Theater with 286 seats.
