     This building located at 539 South Orange, Sarasota, Florida.  It was built in 1926 by Owen Burns.  The architect was Dwight Baum.  Construction was hollow tile, concrete and steel.  Exterior was tinted stucco.  The design and layout were innovative for its time.  This was the first home of the Sarasota Herald paper.  When first built the building was one level.   The building was served as the Sarasota Herald Headquarters from 1925 to 1969.  The Sarasota  Women’s Exchange moved into the building after purchasing and renovating the building.  More renovations were carried out in 1982. It was converted to a multiple story building in 1969 to 1982 time period
