The Wild Turkey Strand Preserve is located at 11901 Rod and Gun Club Road, Fort Myers. It is 3137 acres making it the third largest conservation preserve in Lee County.
The preserve includes part of former Buckingham Army Airfield. A concrete ammunition storage building is present. There are also gun turret bases from the old Buckingham Army Airfield. There is an 1.8 mile trail and boardwalk. The land for the preserve was obtained in the first decade of the 21st century.
