Towles Court was a historic art center that dates back to the 1920’s.  It was a thriving area for professionals and seasonal residents. By the late 1970’s,  the area  fell into disrepair. In 1995 a developer N. Olivieri began to revive this area as an artist colony.  At one time, the area had 50 working artists and 25 galleries.

     Currently, the area centers around the building called Towels Court Art Center at 1930 Adams Lane.    It was built in the 1920’s.  It was developed by William Towles.  Style is old Florida.  The building is used by 9 artists

     Red Bug Slough Preserve is located at 5200 Beneva Road, Sarasota

       The Sarasota Waterworks Building is a two  story red brick Mediterranean Revival Building  It is located at 1005 North Orange Avenue Sarasota.  In 1925, a $150,000. Bond issue was approved.  Part of this funding was used to construct the city Waterworks Building.

     The building was constructed in 1926.  The architects were Bohmer–Reinhart and Company. Q   The building was divided in two parts. The easternmost, two story part was used as the office for the City Waterworks system.  The eastern facade has elliptical.  and rounded archway on the ground level topped by rows of metal casement windows. The Westernmost part of the building was one story. It served as the industrial pumping station.  A hipped roof clad in two tone barrel tiles is present.

     The old Sarasota waterworks was operational until 1982.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in  1984 .

     In 2002, a private buyer bought the building from the city and converted into an office space.  In February 2018, the building was purchased by Robin Jennings and Rachel McAfee for 1.3 million dollars.  It was converted into a business and social club.

     The Sarasota County Judicial Center is located at 2002 Ringling Boulevard Sarasota.  It was built in 1998.  It was constructed by Turner Construction.  Architecture was Lionakis.  

     The building is 11 stories high.  There are six courtrooms. The exterior is is precast concrete panels and cut limestone.

     In 2006, the building was renamed the Judge Lynn N. Silvertooth Justice Center.

     Judge Lynn Silver tooth was a highly respected, long serving circuit judge in the 12th Judicial Circuit Florida

     The building is.located at 891 Tamiami Trail just north of the old Sarasota High School..  It was designed by well known architect Victor Lundy around 1959. It was a 2 story round  show case for Lynch’s signature glass walls and wood laminated trusses. The furniture store was operating from 1959 to the late.1960’s (1964 to 1966.)

     Vision works opened in the building in the 1970’s.  The show room underwent significant changes during the conversion.  The expansive glass walls, exposed morning glory wood framing and a floating mezzanine was concealed by the renovation.  The building’s  openness ,materiality, and structural innovation were lost.   Vision works vacated the building in 2016

     This building was purchased by Sarasota Art Museum.of Ringling College of Art and Design.  It is used for Museum Offices, ,storage, and various exhibitions.  Long range plans are to.restore the building to its original.state.

     This bridge crosses false creek.  It was built in 1932.  General contractors were Hodgson, King and Marble and Dawson and Wade Company.  Builder /Contractor was Western Bridge Contractor of Vancouver and Dominion Bridge Contractor  of Montreal.   J.R. Grant was the consulting engineer. Sharp and Thompson were the architects.
