McCullough Building Sarasota

     Recently, Architecture Sarasota (  a non for profit organization) has sought to purchase the McCullough Building at 261–265 Orange Avenue from Sarasota County.

     At a recent meeting the county board voted to have the Sarasota County to engage with Architecture Sarasota to draft a purchase and sale agreement to be presented to the board for approval.

     The building at 261–265 Orange Ave. was built in 1960. The architects were Williams Rapp and Joseph Farrell ( both of the Sarasota School.of Architecture).  Over the years the building was used by many businesses: Backus Furniture Business, Offices of  Architects Rupp and Farrell,Scott Building.  It was purchased by Sarasota County in 1999.  It was used as a printing and mailing cener
