
High bridge Water Tower
The High bridge Water Tower is located in High bridge Park. It is 200 feet in height. When it was operational, it had a 47,000 gallon water tank. The Tower is 200 feet in height. It was fed by the Croton Aqueduct.
The tower was built in 1866-1872. The tower opened in 1872 and was fully operational by 1875. When in use,it delivered clean water to Manhattan. The architect was John Jervis. Its style is Romanesque Revival and Neo Greek. There was a 7 acre reservoir next to it.
The tower ceased to deliver to water to Manhattan on December.15, 1949.
