Fisgard Lighthouse is located in Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Site in Colwood, B.C. It was the first lighthouse on the West Coast of Canada. It was constructed in 1859 to 1860 by the British Colonial Government of Vancouver, Island
The foundation is granite. The construction is brick. Its height is 14.6 m. The shape.is tapered cylindrical. There is a tower with balcony and a lantern. The architects were John Wright and Hermann Otto Tiedmann. The builder was Joseph DesPard Pemberton.
There were 12 fulltime lighthouse keepers until 1929 when the lighthouse was automated. The lighthouse was in continuous operation until 1957. It was out of service for a year as a result of a fire.
