Smoky Mountains in the distance
The Smoky Mountains aka Great Smokies is a mountain range along the Tennessee North Carolina Border. It is a sub range of the Appalachian Mountains. The term Smoky is derived from the natural fog that hangs over the range. Highest point is Clingmans Dome. It measure 6,643 feet.
