Plaque Sarasota Women’s Club

     The Sarasota Women’s Club is located at 1241 Palm Avenue,  Sarasota.   It started at a meeting of 63 charter members on April 14 , 1913.  Ultimately, the club was moved to a new club house.  Construction costs were.$4,500.  Architect was H.N.Hall.  Contractor was George Lysatt.  Style was Tudor Revival.  Part of the clubhouse was a Sarasota Library until 1940.

     Clubhouse was rededicated in 1952 after being remodeled and redecorated by Naomi Widrig.  In 1977 it became the home of Florida Studio Theater.

     It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 18, 1915.
