Lehigh Portland Cement

    Chicago Cement Company was one of two cement companies in Oglesby, Illinois.   It was founded in 1898. The operation was purchased by Lehigh Portland Cement in 1916.  It was managed under this operation until 1963.  The plant was closed in 1963 because of the unwillingness of Lehigh to spend the money to refurbish the operation.  Their quarry was sold to Marquette Cement  (this is still operating as Lonestar)
