Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse

     The Jupiter Inlet Light.is located in Jupiter, Florida on the north side of the Jupiter Inlet.  The site for the.lighthouse was chosen in 1853.  It was originally designed by Lt.George Meade.  It was modified by Lt. William Reynolds.  Work was completed in 1860 under the supervision of Captain Edward.A. York.

     The lighthouse was built on a hill.  Cost $ 60,000. The structure is 105 feet.tall.  The exterior is brick with double masonry wall.  Outer wall is conical. Inner wall is circular with double brick.

City Island Bridge 

     The current. bridge at this.site opened on October.29,2017.  The bridge carries 3 lanes of City.Island Road.  It.connects City Island with Rodman’s neck.on.the mainlamd. The bridge.crosses.Eastchester Bay.

     Macombs Dam Bridge contains a swing bridge over the Harlem. River.. This span consists of concave chords running along the top. There are 4 lanes.of traffic and 2 sidewalks.

     The bridge connects the Burroughs of Manhattan and the Bronx.  The bridge was named after Daniel Macomb, son of a merchant. It was designed by Alfred Pancoast Boller.  There are 3 bridge approaches– 2 in Manhattan and 1 in the Bronx.

     The bride opened on Mayn1, 1895. Its total.length.is 2540:feet.  Cost for construction was $26 million.

Columbus Barcelona Memorial

     The Christopher Colombia Memorial is 197 feet tall.  It is located at the lower end of La Rambla, Barcelona, Catalonia Spain. It was constructed in honor of Columbus first voyage to America.

     At the top of the monument stands a 7.2 m tall bronze statue atop a 40m Corinthians Column. It is said to be Columbus pointing to the new land
