     Mermaid Fountain has been a center pierce of  Pineapple Park (aka Paul Thorpe, Jr Park) for well over 25 years.     The park is located at 135 Pineapple Avenue in downtown Sarasota.

Circus Arts Conservatory Sarasota 2075 Bahia Vista St, Fl

 Circus Arts Conservatory was incorporated as the National School of Perfoming Circus Arts in 1997.  Name was changed to Circus Sarasota and then in 2013  to Circus Arts Conservatory. Its goal is to preserves Sarasota’s heritage of circus arts with dedication to performance and education.

    It organizes circus events  with amateur and world class performers. 

    It sponsors Sailor Circus. This provides a circus education to younger individuals. 

  It organizes Circus  de Voix.  This is an event that combines circus acts with music of the Key Chorale and  the Cirque Orchestra.

    Summer Circus Spectacular is jointly produced by Circus Arts Conservatory and Ringling.   The event is held in the Asolo Theater. It features circus acts from around the world.

Ace Theatre Building  Rosemary District Sarasota, Florida.

This structure was located at 1419 5th Street, Sarasota, Fl. It opened in the 1920’s as an open air theater. In 1935, management was taken over by Wotemco theaters. (Wotmeco was founded in 1925 as movie chain based in Miami, Fl. In 1938, a roof was installed over the building. in 1942, management was taken over by Paramount in its E.J. Sparks subsidiary. In 1945, the building underwent an extensive renovation. Its style became Streamline Moderne. This was an International style of Art Deco that emerged in the 1930’s. In 1953, it operated as an Afro American Thater. It had one screen and 400 seats. Historic Building Appleby Building 513 Kumquat Court Sarasota, Fl Rosemary District

     The Appleby Building is a single story building built in the 1920’s.  It was divided into seven store fronts.  The architectural style is Mediterranean Revival.   Over the years the units were uses manufacturing, service industries and storage.

     Some of the prior tenants included: Walpole Castor Real Estate; Michele Tanner Realtor;Specialume Products (sliding doors);  Michael the Cleaner; Cubbage Walpole, In.

     Currently, the building. Is occupied by Resurrection House, a501C 3 non for profit. It serves as a day resource for the homeless.

   The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 28,2001

     The Mandeville Beer Garden is Sarasota’s first beer garden.  It is located at 428 N. Lemon Street in the Rosemary District.  It is adjacent to Station 400–A Lunch/Brunch Restaurant.  It features a wide variety of beers and a full service restaurant.  There is 3,000 square feet of interior space There is a full bar and 3 large screen tvs.  There is 2,000 square feet in the outside garden area.
