     This house is located at 227 S. 7th St. Fernardina Beach, Florida.  It was built in 1885 for George Rainford Fairbanks.  The architect was R. S. Schulyer.  The house is a 4 story Italianate..

     The house currently operates as a bed and breakfast.

     The house was listed on the National Register not Historic Places June 4,1973

Charleston Old Jail

Old Charleston Jail

     21 Magazine aka Old Charleston Jail was located atb21 Magazine Street Charleston, South Carolina. It was operational between1802 to 1939.  It was 4 stories topped with a 2 story octagonal tower.  Charleston architects Harbor and Settle were responsible for an 1855 alteration including a rear octagonal wing.  An 1886 earthquake damaged the tower and top story of the main building.  These were subsequently were removed

    The South Carolina Historical Museum  was founded in 1855.  It is a private  non for profit organization with a goal of preserving South Carolina’s rich historical legacy.  The museum is housed in the Fireproof Building at 100 Meeting Street, Charleon, S.C.

     The museum has. extensive collections of historical records, diaries , maps.  There are 30,000 photographs and prints.  There are 50,000 books, pamphlets and  serials.

Edmondston Alston House

     This house is located on 21 E. Battery Charleston, S. C.  It was built on The Battery in 1825 for $25,000 by Charles Edmonston. He was a merchant and wharf owner. The building style was Federal.  It was 3 stories.

     The house was sold to Charles Alston, A rice planter.

     In 1973, the house became a museum

     The Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon is located at 122 East Bay St in Charleston, South Carolina.  It was built in 1771.  It served as a commercial exchange and custom house.  It is an example of Georgian architecture with a grand ball room, observation deck and museum.

     It served as a military prison during the Revolutionary War; A pow camp during the Civil War.  

     A provost dungeon was in the basement for pows and political prisoners.

Hunting Island Lighthouse 2555 N. Beach Road Lands Island, South Caolina.

    The original light house was destroyed during the Civil War.  The light house was then started in 1873 .  It was completed in 1875. Its design was developed by Major George Elliot. It was developed to be disassembled when needed.  It consisted of cast iron sections each weighing 1200 pounds. These were bolted together to form a shell. This was lined with a brick exterior.  It was 136 feet in height.

     The lighthouse was relocated in 1879.  It was deactivated in 1933.  It was listed on the National Registry of Historic Places on 6/5/1970

Branford Horry House

This house is located at 59 Meeting Place Charleston, South Carolina. It is a 3 story house with an exterior of stuccoed brick. The style is Georgian. The house was built in 1767. The front piazza.was built over the sidewalk by Branford’s grandson Elias Horry in 1830. The house was listed in the National. Register of Historic Places on October 15, 1970

Central Georgia R.R..Depot and Trainshed.

     The Central Georgia Railroad Depot and Freight Complex is located at 303 Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard, Savannah, Georgia.  The depot is a red brick building.  Construction began in 1860 and extended over many years.  The architect was Augustus Schwab.

     This project was part of a complex plan providing for the passenger depot, freight depot, shops for the construction and repair of engines and train stock and a train shed (also designed by Augustus Schwabb, cotton yard, black smith shop, brick viaduct.

     The former train depot now serves as a museum and visitors center.
